Auditions
A list of people who will be judging and supervising the auditions is created.
Posters and TV announcements have gone up (posters made by Aberdeen).
Auditions will be held in the band room, right after school on Fridays, September 15th, and 22nd.
Mr. MacLennan will be supervising the first audition.
Ms. Yeung will be supervising the second.
The results of the auditions will depend on the people who audition.
Performers will need to come early to the gala to set up, and play as people are coming in.
There will also be background music as people are coming in.
Audition criteria include a max length of 10 minutes per performance, only microphones, pianos and drums are allowed, and no swearing.
Get all performers who audition to email galaauditions@hotmail.com
Hosting
People who have shown interest in hosting include Aberdeen, Christy, Zoë, and Nikki. Zoë and Nikki have said that they will prepare something, a kind of game, to entertain the audience.
Susan may also be interested in hosting.
If people from outside the student council is hosting, we need one person from inside the council to be the liaison, to keep the hosts up to date and to check in on them to see their progress.

Mr. Nugent – to be confirmed by Bianca (I’ve spoken with Mr. Nugent and he said he would be willing to DJ as long as Mr. Johnston is doing it).
The DJs need to be reminded of the date of the gala.
Both DJs with be paid $100 dollars, thus a total of $200.

Hopefully the set-up can support 12 to 24 people playing chess.
A person is needed to be in charge of organizing the event, and to make sure that all chess sets are cared for.
